Today I read Disney: It’s A Small World to my unborn baby girl and had her listen to this beautiful Disney song: by Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman
It’s a world of laughter,
A world of tears.
It’s a world of hopes,
And a world of fears.
There’s so much that we share,
That it’s time we’re aware,
It’s a small world after all.Chorus:
It’s a small world after all.
It’s a small world after all.
It’s a small world after all.
It’s a small, small world. There is just one moon,
And one golden sun.
And a smile means,
Friendship to every one.
Though the mountains divide,
And the oceans are wide,
It’s a small world after all.Chorus:
It’s a small world after all.
It’s a small world after all.
It’s a small world after all.
It’s a small, small world.
From my previous posts you will certainly have discovered that I believe it’s important to stimulate your unborn baby by reading, singing and speaking to it.
“It’s a small world” is particularly dear to me as I am a traveler at heart and as a traveling mama will have a traveling baby. I love that this song is sang in various languages, that the book presents various cultures in a very simple way to a young child (albeit full of stereotypes and cliches). I grew up in an international environment and still love it. I know my baby will also thrive in such an environment especially that she will be bilingual from the start having an Italian father and Polish mother, plus she will be hearing English everywhere as we will travel.
Last but not least, what an impression will the A Small World ride in Disneyland make on her, the first time we go!
