IntelliGender – Gender Prediction Test.

It’s a boy! This message definitely requires a separate post 🙂 I got the Intelligender Gender Prediction Test Kit yesterday and performed it first thing in the morning and the result was clear – we’re having a baby boy!

There is however one side effect to this test – the smell!!! I thought I was going to throw up while waiting the 5 minutes for the results (and I am vomit free my whole pregnancy – uuu that even rhymes :))

I know it’s 90% accurate but I and the world also have this feeling it’s a boy… now I can clearly imagine a little fellow when visualizing him 🙂 Great for bonding!

UPDATE: We’re having a girl! Two months after performing this test we did an ultrasound in week 23 and the result was a clear hamburger (=vagina!).

Nevertheless the company selling this test claims that it has conducted  independent studies:

The results from a seven-month independent evaluation of the IntelliGender Gender Prediction Test’s accuracy performed between November 2008 and May 2009 by a major Mexico-based pharmaceutical company is included here.  The tests reflected an accuracy rate of 87.6% when tested with first morning urine.  The test was required by Mexico’s Ministry of Health before the IntelliGender Test could be imported and sold in Mexico.

The results from a one-year study conducted between August 2008 and August 2009 in Australia evaluating the IntelliGender Test’s accuracy, reflecting an overall accuracy rate of 89.55%.  This study was required before the test could be sold in Australia.

And some more about what this test is about:

IntelliGender’s Gender Prediction Test™ is a simple urine analysis similar to the pregnancy test you took a few weeks ago.  It uses first morning urine and a proprietary mix of chemicals which reacts with a combination of hormones to indicate the gender of your baby.  It can be performed as early as 10 weeks of pregnancy (six weeks from the first day of the missed period). It is an easy test to perform and provides quick results in-home so the news can be shared right away.

IntelliGender reminds all pregnant moms that seeing an obstetrician early in the pregnancy is critical for the health of the mother and the baby and should follow the advice of their physician.

You simply collect first morning urine and insert into the test vessel.  Swirl rapidly in a circular motion, place the test on a flat white surface undisturbed for minutes.
