I know it’s a simple question but the answer might not be as simple as you might expect. So if you want to have a baby here’s my recipe:
- Go to your gynecologist and tell her you’re planning to be expecting, she will most probably have you get some standard blood tests done to make sure you are good to go. Also she will tell you to take folic acid, very important for the early development of your baby. Actually every woman having unprotected sex should be taking folic acid just in case she gets pregnant because baby needs it before you might realize you’re pregnant!
- Have sex. You know sex? You need to have it and have fun while you’re at it 🙂 when you are ovulating. Do you know when you are ovulating? It’s in the middle of your cycle. What is your cycle? It start the first day of your period and lasts until your next period. It’s usually 28 days. You are most fertile in the middle of that window. So a few days earlier and a few days before the peak and a few days after – get to business!
- Give yourself 6 months and if nothing happens go to your doctor again.
- Remember to eat healthy, exercise, relax and be happy, making babies is fun!!!
ACUPUNCTURE
I was lucky enough to have a friend who wanted to show me the power of acupuncture. Although I dread needles I thought I’d give it a try as I had never had a session before. When I arrived she asked what kind of problem I wanted to cure. I didn’t have any problems but when she showed me a list of what acupuncture treats I told her: “make me super fertile!” At that point we had been trying for 2 months but I was by no means stressed out. We did a few sessions and funnily enough, I got pregnant the following month!
Acupuncture works on the principle that problems such as infertility are causes by blockages in the body’s energy flow or “qi”. By inserting tiny needles into energy points that are linked to the reproductive organs, the flow is restored. In 2008, after reviewing seven studies of more than 1300 women having fertility treatment researchers concluded that acupuncture give around the time of embryo transfer increases the chances of pregnancy.
